New duty list for 2012

Hello SC!

This will be the new duty list with effect on 03 JANUARY 2012, Tuesday which is the first day of school! This also means that whether or not you're having duty, all tie and tie clips have to be worn from the first day of school.
If you have noticed, there will be no councillor in charged of putting the chairs for every Assembly period. This is because the teachers and EXCOs want to see initiative in everyone of you to arrange the chairs and keeping them after the Assembly without being told to do so. So, please don't disappoint us!

2. SECONDARY 1 ORIENTATION TRAINING

Time: 8.45am - 4.30pm (8.15am for EXCOs)
Venue: School, AVA room
Attire: SC shirt (2011 one) with school green bottom and WHITE SCHOOL SHOES
(Sec2 boys, if you still have your green shorts, please wear them)
*THIS TRAINING IS ONLY FOR 2011 SEC2s and SEC3s!

Bring along: Writing materials, writing papers and sufficient money for lunch
*For lunch, Mr Faizal might be ordering packet food for everyone of us. So, please prepare a min. of $2 to be paid to the EXCOs on 27 December morning for lunch.

Do note that this training is conducted by Mr Faizal B and is very important! Therefore, attendance is compulsory! If you happen to be absent on that day, a valid proof (parent's letter or flight tickets/passport stamp) have to be shown to us when school reopens.
For Band members, you will attend your CCA practice first then you join us after CCA has ended.
For Wushu members, you will attend the training first then we will release you at 2pm for your CCA.

I'm sure that everyone of us will have a change of class for 2012, especially the sec2s. Therefore, I need each and everyone of you to help me by giving your 2012 CLASSES and also, if any, new contact number to your respective Secretary ASAP!

1. Please take note that FILE and PLEDGE-TAKING duties will be as per normal during the EOY examinations period. There will not be any late-coming and hall duties during the EOY period.
*File duty - please report to school earlier so that you will be on time for your first paper of the day. Sec4 and 5s' files DO NOT have to be given out due to 'N' level and study break, from 10 October onwards.
**Pledge-taking SC, please report for your first paper immediately after the pledge.

Rehearsal for Investiture 2011

Dear Secondary 1,2 and 3 Councillors,

First of all, I would like to acknowledge the effort that you have put in for the past few rehearsals. Maybe you may think it is nothing because you have not truly experience a true success in an event. You will get to taste the feeling after the real investiture which is just around the corner. Attire!

Dear SCs,

There are two things that I want to highlight to you guys.
1) All SCs are to put on your tie before 7.20 am. For the SCs who need to go for duty, you should have it on before doing your duty.

2) Please be more sensitive with your attire in school. SCs are to be the role model of the school and yet we have been receiving complaints from teachers saying that our councilors’ attire is not up to standard. Make sure that your attire is in tip-top condition every day.

Miss Loh and Miss Pang are not very pleased with the standard of the SC’s attire either. Please rectify all these issues before they remove your tie on the spot. We are very serious about it! The teachers and the Excos have repeatedly reminded you all about this attire issue and yet we haven’t see improvements. If you are going to continue toeing the line, then the teachers will not warn you anymore and just removed your tie on the spot. We are not kidding!

COMMON TEST WEEK!

Hello SC!

Please take note of the following details..

This week will be common test week, so here are some changes about your duty. There will be no late coming duty this week. File duty will still continue, but please remember to put the files in the respective classrooms. For pledge taking, only people who are doing duty at the parade square will have to report for duty. You will be saying the pledge through the PA system at the General Office. For those who are doing file duty, please come earlier as you will need more time to give out all the files. Pledge takers, report at General Office at normal timing. Lastly, ALL COUNCILLORS NEED TO WEAR YOUR TIE AND TIE CLIP,regardless of whether you have duty or not. Sec One Orientation

Hey Councillors,

Theres a slight change to this year's Sec One Orientation which is half good news and half bad news. The 4 day orientation will be shortened to 2days only. Very briefly, I'll just let you know the main things that will be happening on those 2 days.

First Day-- Ice breaker games, teaching them the school song,values,motto,mission and vision and also bringing them around the school

Second Day-- Team building activities, creating their class motto and logo and lastly, a photo taking session with them in the afternoon.

Those are just the main things that will be happening for the two days. Other details will be informed to you through your Orientation Excos (please note that the Orientation Excos are not the SC Excos even though almost 80% of them are from the SC Exco). Another thing to take note of is your attire/grooming. We'll be having an attire check in the ISH. Please make sure your hair, nails and uniform are up to school standard. Remember, we want to leave the sec 1s ones a good impression of the SC and the school. Lastly, please bring a story book with you on both days and your stationery + school stuff on the first day as you'll be going back to class after the orientation.
