July 2012 Duty list

Dear SCs,

I have attached the new duty list below, on behalf of the 4th EXCOS.
Please take note of the changes in the duty list and you're reminded to turn up for your duty accordingly and punctually.

Adding on, the rules of the duty still apply.
1. You are to turn up for all your duties regularly.
2. If you can't make it/is going to be late for school, make sure that you INFORM the respective EXCOS in charge latest by 7am.
3. SCs doing the file and late-coming duty, please put on your tie and tie clip before going into the General Office.
4. PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL.



PLEASE NOTE THAT ABOVE DUTY LIST WILL TAKE EFFECT ON 19 JULY 2012, THURSDAY.

Investiture Rehearsals 2012

Dear ALL SCs,

This is a reminder! There will be INVESTITURE REHEARSALS this WEDNESDAY TO FRIDAY.

Date: 20, 21 and 22 June 2012, Wednesday to Friday
Time: 9am to 2pm (Please report 15mins earlier, which is 8.45am)
Venue: MPH
Attire: School based top and school green bottom (20 and 21 June) ; FULL School uniform with tie and tie clip (22 June)
Things to bring: Water bottle, a pen.

Please be reminded to have a heavy breakfast before reporting to school as there will only be short water and toilet breaks in between.
ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY! For those of you who are unable to attend any of the rehearsals, please inform your respective department heads or at least your friend(s) so that the EXCOS can be informed on the rehearsals day itself. Please provide a valid reason with PROVE for your absence to any of the EXCOS when school reopens. Example, a photocopied passport (stamped page) if you are overseas. If any failed to do so, he/she has to face serious consequences.

Trainee SCs department allocation

Dear all TRAINEE SCs,

I have attached the Department Allocation result below. Do check for your respective department! Please note that there's a few things to take note about the entire Department Allocation rules.

1. Once you're allocated to any of the departments, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE YOUR DEPARTMENT AT ALL.

2. You are to REMAIN IN THE SAME DEPARTMENT for as long as you are in the Student Council Board.

3. You are to attend all events/meeting with regards to your respective department, as well as with regards to the Student Council Board.

4. If you not able to make it for any events/meetings/rehearsals with a VALID REASON, the FIRST PERSON to be informed is your RESPECTIVE DEPARTMENT HEAD or the SECRETARY.

5. Respect the EXCOS and always listen to instructions.
If not, I hope that everyone will have a good time with their respective departments!
On behalf of the EXCOS, I would like to apologise if anyone of you is not given of your first choice of department! I'm sure you will enjoy your days in the Council as much as the others!

Welcome Trainee SCs!

Dear all SCs,

Before I begin, I would like to WELCOME OUR TRAINEE SCs!!
They will be joining us from now and will be a part of the Council, under Probation!

So here's the duty list, with effect on 23 April 2012, Monday.
Senior SCs, please teach your respective attached trainee SC(s) the PROPER way to do the duty. Please note that if anything goes wrong at the duty, the senior SC will be at fault.
Trainee SC, if you have any question regrading the Duty system, please feel free to approach any of the EXCO or ask your attached senior SC for help!

A few things to take note:
1. Please make sure that you wear your tie before turning up for your duty.
2. If you are to be late for school/ won't be coming to school, please inform your senior SC about it. Like wise, senior SC, please make sure you inform your trainee SC if you wont be in school/ late.
3. Please do not ask your friends along to accompany you for the duty. It's YOUR duty, not some excursion.
4. Lastly, be PUNCTUAL for all your duties!
5. I repeat, duty list attached below will take effect on 23 APRIL 2012, Monday.

Lastly, majority for the SEC4s need not turn up for duty anymore. This is an exception for the few SEC4s and EXCO involved in Pledge-taking and patrol duty.

NYAA Briefing and Speech Day 2012

1. NYAA Briefing (SEC 1 to 3 ONLY)

Attendance is COMPULSORY for all SEC 1 , 2 and 3 SCs. SEC 4s are NOT NEEDED to turn up for this briefing. The briefing will not take long. For those who have CCAs/remedials, please excuse yourselves to attend the meeting for at least 30mins.

Clarification

Dear all SEC2 Councillors,

On behalf of the EXCOS, Council and especially Wan Ping, I would like to apologise to each and everyone of you. I know that there are some of you who are unhappy about the fact that you cannot join the SEC1 Orientation 2012. I would like to clarify that it was solely due to some miscommunication between Wan Ping and the SEC2s. As you all know, the SEC1 Orientation teacher-in-charged was Mr Faizal B, who has his style of planning events. The truth is not that Wan Ping or the EXCOS doesn't want the SEC2s to be involved for the Orientation. It is due to the fact that Mr Faizal doesn't wants the SEC2s to be involved as he felt that there is already an excessive number of Councillors helping for the Orientation. Furthermore, we have 10 other NT Leaders joining us to help our Councillors in facilitating the SEC1 NT classes. Mr Faizal thinks that every Councillors should have at least a chance to participate in the Orientation and that the SEC2s have next year (2013) and the year after (2014) to join the Orientation Programme. So, the priority was given to the SEC3s and the especially the SEC4s, whom are stepping down very soon.

I understand that it was Wan Ping's fault that she did not relay the message down clearly with the reasons on why the SEC2s are not joining us for the Orientation. This incident has truly taught us the importance of Communication.
Now that I have clarified and speak the truth, I hope that those of you who were unhappy about it will forgive Wan Ping and the EXCOS for any wrongdoings or any wrong message relayed down. The EXCOS will definitely try our very best to ensure that this incident does not repeat itself again. We are sorry, and Wan Ping would also like to sincerely apologise to each and every SEC2s who were hurt by what she said. She is sorry about it. She will be more careful in future while passing down messages. It was a lesson learnt for Wan Ping and the other 7 EXCOS.
